Pilot Killed After Plane Crashes Into Home in U.S. New Mexico

A pilot was killed after his two-engine plane crashed into a home on Tuesday near Santa Fe, a city in the U.S. state of New Mexico, police said.

The pilot reported an engine failure two minutes after the small plane took off at Santa Fe Regional Airport around 9:03 a.m. local time, local media reported.

No one was home at the time of the crash. The house was blazed and fire crews contained the fire within about ten minutes, according to New Mexico State Police.

First responders pronounced the pilot dead at the scene, and police said an investigation was underway.
